Everyone must have heard the stories of the Red Mist, the strongest Fixer the City has ever known.
Everyone must have heard of her legendary exploits, and of her sudden disappearance.
Effie certainly did, and Effie wanted to be like the Red Mist- even if she had to struggle her way up there. Even if she could never reach so high, she wanted to. And every time she tried to climb, she just fell back down to earth.
Down on her luck, stuck in a District she hated, Effie chose to join Lobotomy Corp. in the hopes she could finally restart her dream of being a Fixer like the Red Mist, assigned to the Disciplinary Team, under its Sephirah Gebura's watchful eye and tight grip. Her coworkers were cowards. Competent cowards, but cowards nontheless. She put in all her effort to try and impress Gebura, hopeful that her prowess may be noted and it may earn her a little extra- whether in renown or in monetary gain, it didn't matter. Just something to get her started back on the path of her dream.
Finding out, through rather strange means, that Gebura was The Red Mist shattered that dream once and for all. If she knew how selfishly Effie was acting, the reasons for her trying to show off, would she ever be proud of that? Of course not. Effie replayed the scenario over and over in her head, and only concluded that anything that could come of it would be a negative- disappointment, ire... there would never be anything good to come of this selfish want to be like the Red Mist- no, she wanted to be the Red Mist, plain and simple. She was nothing more than a copycat from the start.
Within the Library, she tried to get closer to her coworkers. Cowardly as they may be, trying to get them to come out of their shells and have a little confidence wouldn't hurt them, and perhaps that would be a small step towards a new dream- acting in ways that would make her Patron Librarian proud.
Patron Librarian of Language, and The Red Mist herself. Effie is.. intimidated, to say the least, no matter how much she tries not to be. She can't look into Gebura's eyes, as only guilt and nervousness stir in her heart. Perehaps Jacob and Adam aren't so bad for being afraid.

She wishes she could get closer to him than just some hollow affirming words, but she can tell he has walls firmly in place to protect himself, and only he can break them down.
Assistant Librarian of Language, and one of Effie's coworkers. Contrary to her brothers, Asera seems afraid of nothing, and Effie found her surprisingly easy to bond with. She considers Asera a close friend, and both of them know they can rely on each other if things get tough- they rarely ever do.
